'American Sex Tape' has a face
Dear Reader, ***drumroll please*** the cover of my debut is HERE
And the long-awaited reveal of the cover to my first book American Sex Tape is upon us. A sharp wave of panic and pleasure washed over me today.
Obviously didn’t have enough characters in my tweet to profusely and obnoxiously thank the Design team of University of Wisconsin Press who nodded with ecstatic enthusiasm when I told them all I wanted for my cover was Black female/woman/womxn representations front to back, inside and out.
Please share some love for not only this cover and the forthcoming book (November 15, 2022 is too far away!), but also please show love and support to Kadine Lindsay, the talented artist who breathed new bravado and vibrancy into my book with their artwork. And check out the important social justice work and conscious creativity of Blackbird Revolt (who designed the typography, jacket, and interior of my book); they are a Black-woman owned design studio in Minneapolis, MN.
P.S. For the grown and sexy in Chicagoland, I will be reading a few pieces from American Sex Tape on July 15 at 7:00 PM CST for the Poetry & Biscuits Reading Series. This is a private house reading, so please RSVP to the biscuit maker: carrieolivia@gmail.com.
Please keep an eye on this space for updates on where I’m reading next, the full book tour, reviews, and when and how to pre-order your copy.
